Ravelry: Scarf Exchange 2007

The Basics
Sign Ups for this exchange will begin August 1st and End August 18th.

We will be casting on September 1st and your package should be sent no later than December 1st. (To avoid the Christmas rush!)

Feel free to post in the forums to ask questions or discuss anything related to this exchange! :) Off-Topic Chit Chat is allowed as well! :)

Let me clarify that the person you are making a scarf for is not making a scarf for you in return. The terminology usually is that you will have an Upstream Pal: (The person who is knitting you a scarf.) and a Downstream Pal: (The person you are knitting a scarf for.)

There is no monetary amount required for this swap (At this time) but please do not be dishonoring and buy the cheapest yarn you can find.

For the items in the package, including the scarf, I would say spend no more than a total of $20 USD (Not including shipping). Do keep in mind that if you have an international pal the shipping rates will be a bit higher.

Please put a little thought and effort into your Pal’s scarf exchange package. They will remember this experience for years to come and I would love for them to have great memories about this exchange. Just think, whenever they wear your scarf they will remember you and brag to their friends what a wonderful pal you were!

Package Item Ideas: Yarn, needles, pattern books, chocolate, stitch markers, any fun novelty item from LYS, etc… When in doubt, ask! :)

Participation
We are all adults, if you do not intend to put your whole heart into this exchange and participate to the fullest, please do not sign up. I would hate for someone have a bad taste in their mouth about this exchange when it is finished.

If you realize that you will not be able to participate in the exchange, please email me before September 1st!

If at any time you are not able to finish this Scarf Swap once it has begun, PLEASE contact me as soon as possible! If you do choose to leave, please at least send a short email saying “I can no longer participate” to me or your pal.

If you are having any problems with your pal please inform me as soon as possible so we can get things resolved.

Please check in with your exchange pal once a week, reassuring them that you are still working on their scarf. This is also a way for us to make sure everyone will be receiving a scarf by December.

If possible, please post up-to-date pictures of your scarf in your Ravelry WIP (Work in Progress) section . If you are unable to post pictures, please do not worry about it.

Once you have read this, feel free to go to the Questionnaire Post, fill it out, and send it in! :)

******************************************

Please complete the Questionnaire below and send it to RavelryScarfExchange @ gmail.com (no spaces)

You will be sent the Questionnaire of your Downstream Pal by September 1st. You do not have to strictly go by what their likes and dislikes are but please be considerate with allergies they may have or certain color dislikes.

This Questionnaire will only be disclosed to the pal receiving your name. I nor other leaders involved with the scarf exchange will misuse this information. Remember these are just suggestions for the person who has your name.

This does not guarantee that they will do exactly what is stated on this form.
